Dr. Shawn K. Wayment knew at the early age of seven that he was afflicted with an obsession for bird dogs and horses; he knew then, that he wanted to become a veterinarian. After graduating from high school in Preston, Idaho he went directly into the army as a medic/EMT for the 82nd Airborne Division. He was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina and spent some time in the Sinai Desert in Egypt.
After severing his hitch with the army, Dr. Wayment enrolled at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. While at Weber State, he served as the Natural Science Senator and was honored with the 1993 Super Senior Award in the College of Science as well as the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award from the Department of Zoology.
Dr. Wayment enrolled in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in the fall of 1993 to realize his dream of becoming a veterinarian. While in veterinary school, he was involved in the research program and was an active member in the student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP). Dr. Wayment was involved in research associated with neurotransmitters that affect the gastrointestinal tract, and his original plan was to continue with an active career in veterinary research. However, he enjoyed the interaction with clients and their animals so much during his senior year, that he abandoned the idea of being in a lab and decided to go into private practice. Dr. Wayment graduated Cum Laude from Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 1997. He was inducted as a member of the National Veterinary Honor Society (PHI ZETA) for being in the top ten percent of his graduating class.
Dr. Wayment joined a mixed animal practice in Walla Walla, Washington in the summer of 1997 where he enjoyed practicing mixed animal practice for 2 years. He moved to Castle Rock, Colorado in January of 1999 to join a companion animal clinic. In March of 2003, Dr. Wayment left his position as an associate veterinarian to realize his dream of being a practice owner and started the Animal Care Center of Castle Rock with Dr. Brooke James.
Dr. Wayment is involved with many of the 4-H groups in Castle Rock, and he enjoys volunteering his time for the Douglas County Fair each fall. Dr. Wayment has a special interest in the animal-human bond, and he enjoys being a part of the happiness that animals bring to owners and their families lives. He has a special interest in both equine and canine reproduction as well as the health and nutritional aspects of the canine and equine athlete. Dr. Wayment’s emphasis is on the care and comfort of the patient. His calm demeanor also offers solace, understanding, and empathy to the owner.
Dr. Wayment is owned by an English setter (Gretchen), an English Pointer (Gep), a field bred English Cocker (Ellie) and two wild but wonderful cats (Stripes and Belle). He has a wonderful daughter, Kyli, who is married to an industrial arts teacher named Kevin Weaver. Kevin and Kyli had their first baby, a son named Liam, in May 2009. He also has a great son, Dylan, who has a beautiful 3 year old daughter named Luna. Dr. Wayment spends a majority of his free time standing in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains’ rivers and streams with a fly rod in hand or chasing his crazy bird dogs over hill-n-dale with his best friend, Karen McDowell.
Doctor Brooke Yules James was born and raised in central Massachusetts in a small town with dairy farms and horse stables. She loved playing with the animals as much as riding them or caring for them. (She refuses to answer any questions about the “Cow-tipping” incident at the Smith farm in 1988.) The neighbors all knew who to call when pet-sitting was needed, and thankfully a good family friend and veterinarian was around to mentor her budding animal interests. She attended Cornell University School of Agriculture and Life Sciences graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995. She then advanced to Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.
During veterinary school Brooke was able to explore multiple fields as an active member of many student chapters of national organizations. She participated in the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), as well as being involved with equine respiratory research, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Government Relations Division of the AVMA, Tufts University Pet Loss Support Hotline, and Tufts Vet School’s youth outreach programs.
She became enamored with Colorado while doing externships at the Littleton Large Animal Clinic and Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine during her last year of veterinary school. Dr. Brooke moved out west after graduation and began her career in Aurora at a mixed animal practice before shifting her focus to the south side of Denver and beginning work in Castle Rock.
Dr. Brooke truly enjoys caring for the beloved pets with which she interacts each day as well as the humans they invariably have with them. Her focus is on high quality preventative medicine and health for her patients. She wants to keep your four-legged family member around and happy as long as possible! She has a special interest in pain management and dentistry and is very keen on keeping all of the surgical cases seen at the Animal Care Center as safe as possible. She enjoys seeing the occasional goat, sheep, cow, and pig for the clients who raise livestock and participates in 4-H. She especially takes pleasure in volunteering for the Denver Dumb Friend’s League’s Buddy Center here in Castle Rock.
Dr. Brooke lives in Franktown on a small “farm” with her husband of 9 years. Her eldest child Rebecca was the 2003 Denver New Year’s baby and continues to grow with flair. Her son Stephen is a kindergarten soccer star and keeps her running when she is not at work! She personally is claimed by two puppy-dogs and a couple of great kitty-cats, and some ponies. The one horse out back does not allege anything about her. Dr. Brooke feels blessed to be one of the founding members of the Animal Care Center of Castle Rock and hopes that all of our clients and patients feel they are being treated with the best and most compassionate customer care. Please feel free to contact her if you have any questions or concerns.
Dr. Jonathan T. Quint grew up in the great state of Montana where his interests in veterinary medicine developed at an early age. During his elementary school years, the rescuing of baby birds from fallen nests every spring launched his desire to help any animal in need of assistance. He even went so far as to dive into a Montana river to save a drowning moose calf (in hindsight, not the most brilliant move as the mother moose was just upstream and the river was cold!). Everything worked out ok as he carried the baby to the edge of the woods where the mother could retrieve it.
Dr. Quint attended college in Pennsylvania at Franklin & Marshall College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics. He then attended Montana State University in preparation for veterinary school. He obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 1997. After a brief 8 months of small animal practice in Kalispell, Montana, he returned to beautiful Colorado where he has resided to this day.
Dr. Quint has practiced in the Castle Rock area since early 1998 and his interests lie with soft-tissue surgery, dentistry, and reproductive medicine. He is excited to be a part of the Animal Care Center of Castle Pines, where state-of-the art medicine and surgery will be emphasized. “I look forward to joining Dr. James, Dr. Wayment, and Dr. Crippen in this wonderful new facility. This venture will allow me to bring you and your pet compassionate, quality care for many years to come’”
Dr. Quint lives in Elizabeth, Colorado, with his wonderful wife, two beautiful daughters, and a German shepherd. His leisure time is spent fly fishing, hiking, and hopefully more time in the air as he continues his passion for flying.
I am Lindsay M. Crippen, DVM, MBA at least that is my official title, but I prefer Lindsay. I am a native of Colorado, born and raised along the Front Range in beautiful Denver. In my high school years I was a concert pianist, a varsity volleyball, basketball, and soccer player. I worked in a veterinary clinic as a kennel “kid” to gain experience in the veterinary field.
After high school I attended college at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado knowing I would apply for Veterinary school during my fourth year of undergraduate. College was filled with many hours of studying, working, volunteering and some social time. I worked at Lambspun of Colorado, a fiber arts gallery, learning the art of knitting, spinning, weaving and crocheting, but also learned how to run a business. I was their office manager. Working for three years at Lambspun gave me the confidence to become an entrepreneur. I knew I would open and operate my own veterinary clinic. After going to school full time, working twenty to thirty hours a week and volunteering about ten hours a week, it came down to the final semester of undergraduate and preparing to move to Illinois for Veterinary school.
I spent four years in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois attending the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. There were many hours of studying, socializing and some working. College was devoted to getting into veterinary school and veterinary school was devoted to learning about veterinary medicine, to establish lifelong friends and determine the kind of doctor I wanted to become. Four years came and went quickly.
I graduated in May 2003 and returned to Colorado. I was jobless, homeless, and money less. What alternative did I have, but to move in with the parents? I decided to attend school again for my Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. I graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver in May 2007 with my MBA
I told my self after graduating from veterinary school that I wanted to be in pursuit of my own hospital in 5 years and it has happened! I worked as an emergency and critical care doctor on the overnight shifts for the first nine months of my career and then gradually worked my way into the daytime shift as a general practitioner in Castle Rock. I joined forces with Animal Care Center in April 2008. The last few years have brought a new challenge of running a business as well as being a doctor. I can honestly say I love my job. My clients and I work as a team; the clients rely on me, the doctor, to treat their family members with respect and care and I rely on them to keep me informed about their pets. I want to educate clients and to love their pets as they are loved at home. Currently, I am in pursuit of becoming a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager.
Aside from work, I do try and create a balance of personal interests and family. I have four cats, Black Diamond, Jack, Chloe, and my 3 legged mongrel Everett, a leopard gecko Clementine, and Kensho. I enjoy photography and traveling. I have a wonderful husband and Norah, my daughter, who was born in December 2009. Many days there are not enough hours to get done what I would like, but in the end I am happy and enjoy life to its fullest.
Dr. Lana J. Groom was born and raised in Davenport, IA. (Not Idaho) At an early age, Dr. Groom knew she was going to be a veterinarian. It all started with collecting various birds, bugs, and snakes. She would love to “surprise” her mother with a snake or critter in her pocket. She got her first pony named “Plug” when she was five and throughout her growing years showed horses. As a young person, Dr. Groom had a variety of jobs, which included: detasseling corn, working for McDonalds, and working at a pizza parlor. After having a discussion with her high school counselor, she discovered that she actually had to go to college to become a veterinarian (lots of laughs).
Dr. Groom enrolled in college at Iowa State University. She received a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. She was accepted into Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. During her extended stay at Iowa State, she was employed by ISU Veterinary School, answering the phones for the emergency service and cleaning surgery rooms. While in veterinary school, Dr. Groom was active in the American Association of the Practitioners (AAEP), colic team and intramural softball and football. Dr. Groom graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. After graduation, she accepted an equine internship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY. After completing her internship, she took an equine ambulatory position at The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine. In 1993, she was accepted to an Equine Surgery residency at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. The surgery residency included practicing veterinary medicine/surgery, teaching veterinary students, and a master’s program. Her research involved healing tendon injuries and the role that cytokines and growth factors play. After completing her surgery residency in 1996, Dr. Groom practiced in Kansas, Iowa and Wisconsin.
Dr. Groom fell in love with Colorado when her sister moved out to Colorado 28 yrs ago. When she graduated from vet school in 1991, she obtained a Colorado license, hoping she would end up in the great state of Colorado. It took a couple of years, but she finally moved to Golden, CO in 2006. Her leisure time is spent hiking, exercising, photography, reading, horse-back riding in the mountains, and cross-stitch. Dr. Groom also travels across the U.S. and Canada competing in Flyball with her 2 spoiled Border Collies, “Dixie” and “Shiner’.
Dr. Groom joined Animal Care Center in January 2010. She is looking forward to meeting all the clients and their pets.
A love of horses, dogs, cats and just about all other creatures, combined with a desire to help people enjoy their animals led Dr. Dale Rice to become a veterinarian.
After raising his family and enjoying a long successful career in animal/food safety, quality and research, he was accepted into vet school as the oldest student in his class. The path to this lifelong goal was long, but in 2009 he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University.
Dr. Rice is now living his dream of caring for horses and smaller animals while helping people enjoy spending time with their animals.
Preventative medicine is Dr. Rice’s special interest. He believes preventing disease and injury are the best ways to insure that owners have the best experience and maximum time with happy and healthy horses. Equine dentistry, parasitology, nutrition and management are additional areas of Dr. Rice’s focus.
Currently Dr. Rice’s academic interests include researching E. coli 0157:H7 in cattle via a grant from Colorado State University. He has been a speaker at the University of Georgia’s Center for Food Safety where he presented his research on utilizing satellite imaging to predict food safety risks for animal agriculture facilities. He continues to consult in food/meat industry on safety and quality issues.
Dr. Rice received his B.S. in Animal Science from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, and next a Master of Agriculture from University of Connecticut. Success in his food safety career eventually lead him to be the Vice President of Food Safety and Quality Assurance for the division of Nestle Foods that manufactured Hot Pocket sandwiches.
Dr. Rice lives in Elizabeth, with his three horses, three dogs, two cats, one llama and a couple of goldfish. He enjoys simple trail riding, with the occasional horse camping and pack trip thrown in for fun. He and Brenda, his wife, love living among all the glory of the Rocky Mountains.
Feel free to ask him about his wife, sons, daughter in-law, grandchildren or animals, but expect to hear every detail about how they are the joy of his life!
Hey! I’m Emily Edmonds. I moved to Colorado in 1996 after joining the Army right after high school. I was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs for the entire 4 year enlistment. I was honorably discharged in 1999 and moved to Castle Rock to pursue my childhood passion in the animal medical field in 2000. I graduated from Bel-Rea Animal Institute of Veterinary Technology in 2002 where I earned my AAS degree and became a Certified Veterinary Technician. I started my career with a mixed animal practice in Castle Rock where I initially worked with Dr. James and Dr. Wayment. With my continual passion in learning and my commitment as a CVT, after 3 years I decided to follow my zeal in surgery and anesthesia and gained a huge amount of knowledge and experience through a surgery referral practice for 4 ½ years.
I love the diversity of the Veterinary Technician field that I decided to come on board with the excellent staff at Animal Care Center of Castle Pines on January 2010. I am so excited to be a part of a team practicing high quality care for every animal that we encounter. I am looking forward to meeting you and every member of your family. I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two lovely daughters. Whenever I have some time for myself, I like to scrapbook, read and cook.
Hi! My name is Sam Caswell and I have been a CVT for six years. I was born in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and lived there for six years. My family then moved to Colorado when I was six and we have been here ever since. I have always had a love for animals and use to raise and show Holland Lop rabbits. I graduated from Bel-Rea in 2003. I immediately started working at a large practice as an ICU nurse. I worked there for five years before joining Animal Care Centers. I have six furry children. The first is a rescued greyhound named Callie Rose who I’m convinced is a lab trapped in a greyhound’s body! I also have four cats: Cody, Austin, Sassy, and Blue. And last but not least I have a leopard gecko named Dudley. Luckily they all get along very well. Cody has an obsession with Callie and will jump up on his hind legs and give her hugs! In my spare time I’m usually biking, taking Callie for hikes, or reading.
My name is Amy Rathbun. I was born outside of Chicago and moved here to Colorado when I was still very young. I have always had a passion for animals and knew from a very young age that working with them was the right career for me. I attended the Bel-Rea Institute where I completed my schooling in March 2007 with an Associates of Applied Science in Animal Technology and from there went on to get my state Certification in June of 2007. My true passion is large animal medicine, but I find small animal medicine equally rewarding and satisfying. In my spare time I love to be outdoors; hiking, horseback riding, white water rafting, camping, etc. I have one beautiful dog a Bichon named Ava, who is still a work in progress, but she does get to spend a few days here and there wandering around the clinic. I look forward to meeting you and your family of pets.
I grew up and lived in Chicago (South Side! GO SOX!) for 28 years. I moved to Colorado to go to school, and graduated from the Community College of Denver with an associate degree in Veterinary Technology in May 2010. I am enjoying my time here at the Animal Care Center as an intern, and now a veterinary technician and was officially hired on as a veterinary assistant in August 2009. I have one dog, Stanleigh, one cat, June Bug and 3 chickens named Spiffy, Phyllis and Gargantua.
Hi, my name is Silver Stebbins and I joined the Animal Care Center team as a CVT in September of 2011. I’m originally from Connecticut and moved out here in 2005 to start a new adventure. I had never been to Colorado so I took a chance and made the move. I spent a few years training horses, which is a passion of mine, before deciding to go to school to become a veterinary technician. I graduated from Bel-Rea in 2010. I spent some time working at an emergency and specialty practice while in school then managed a large horse farm after graduation. I currently own 4 cats, Luna, Lucky, Polly and Koda and they are all rescues. I also own a 7 year old Quarter horse-cross mare named Athena who I have raised and trained since she was 9 months old. When I’m not working, I’m spending time riding, hiking or snowboarding.
I look forward to meeting your pets and caring for them like they are my own!

Lesley is a Hawaii Native who moved to Colorado in 2007. She has been with the Animal Care Center family since May of 2010. She graduated with her B.A. degree in Zoology in 2004. For the past six years, Lesley has worked in various positions within the Veterinary field. Lesley is owned by her cocker spaniel Bosco.
Aloha! My name is Lisa Charles. I have recently moved here from Hawaii. I am a proud Navy mom! I have been in the veterinary field for about 7 years. I have 2, 4-legged, furry children, a Jack Russell Terrier, Maluhia and a terrier mix, Geinki. I love spending time with my husband and 3 kids. My spare time consists of watching or coaching my children in sports.
I joined Animal Care Center in November of 2010. I really enjoy working here. The entire staff has made me feel welcome and part of the family.
Hi, my name is Rachel Lissauer, and I joined the ACC team as a Veterinary Technician in February 2011. I was born in Arizona, but moved to Colorado when I was very young. I’ve wanted to study veterinary science all my life, but studied a few other things before I got around to it: Dancing, Neurobiology and even Opera! I received my AAS degree in Veterinary Technology in December 2010, and have never been happier!
My husband and I are owned by two very spoiled cats, and the most cheerful dog on the planet. When I’m not working, I like to spend my time knitting, cooking, reading, or singing and playing my piano. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members!
Hello, my name is Skyler Patrick, I am a veterinary assistant at the ACCCP, and what can I say? I love animals. I was born and raised in Concord Massachusetts until my family moved to Colorado when I was eight. I love nature and I am an avid soccer player and fan. I attended and played soccer for Brown University, graduating in the spring of 2010. Last summer, I started interning at the ACCCP and I haven’t looked back – I am now hoping to attend CSU veterinary school within the next couple of years. In the meantime, I will endeavor to learn much through promoting your dog or cat’s health in any way that I can. In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, skiing, reading, hanging with my dear friends, and still playing a bit of soccer. I have a dear old Siberian Husky named Pele, and a recently adopted Russian Blue kitten named Jose. They are both the cutest!
My name is Natasha Rainey and I have been a Vet. Tech for 4 yrs. I graduated from the Community College of Denver in 2008 with a degree in Applied Veterinary Science. I started my veterinary career at a very busy low-cost clinic where I confirmed my enjoyment as a Vet. Tech. I recently moved to Parker, CO and started working at the Animal Care Center of Castle Pines in Oct. 2011, and I can honestly say it is the most down to earth , friendly place I’ve ever worked!! I have a son and I am expecting another. I am also accompanied by 2 dogs and 1 cat that I simply adore! On my spare time I like to watch reality TV shows, Animal Planet, being with my family and friends and thinking of ways to improve the world. I really look forward to meeting you and your furry family and hope you look forward to meeting mine at the Animal Care Centers.

Hello, my name is Linda Ringtad and I have been here at the Animal Care Center since March 2008. I have been married “forever” and have 3 grown sons, Jacob, Seth, and Adam who are busy with school, work and building their futures. I met my husband, Kirk while at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa where I studied elementary education. We have moved several times; with moves from Iowa, to Colorado, to Texas, back to Colorado, to Indiana, and finally back to Colorado to stay. I taught preschool until my oldest was born here in Colorado and we homeschooled the boys during their elementary years, enjoying every minute. In 1997, I helped my husband start his business in stone restoration and concrete polishing, while volunteering in various roles at the boys’ schools, and working part time at the recreation center in the preschool program. Animals have always been a passion in my life and we currently have 2 dogs and a cat. I guess I am drawn to the creatures most vulnerable…animals and children who bring with them a purity of spirit that should be respected and protected. The veterinary field has been a terrific fit for me and I am thrilled to be working with such genuinely caring people and always look forward to getting to know our clients and their well cared for pets.
Hi, I’m Tracy Gregory and I joined the Animal Care Center team as a Client Care Specialist in December of 2009. It’s wonderful being a part of such a caring group of people. I look forward to meeting you when you come into the Animal Care Center!
My name is Amy Merz. I have been a Client Care Manager at Animal Care Center since 2008. I am originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, where I worked at a local garden center for over 10 years. While working within the garden center business, I met and married my wonderful husband, Patrick.
Minnesota is also where we started our family of four-legged friends. First came “Rupert”, our frisky, Maine Coon cat, now 18 years old. He’s still as frisky as the first day we adopted him. Next came “Milo”, our 14-year-old Turkish Angora. The third addition, Bogart, came to the family as a gift from a friend. Bogart is our 7-year-old-stubborn-as-can-be-but-loveable Shih Tzu. And finally, our fourth family member came to us while I was working for a different vet hospital. Sam was brought in after being hit by a car with multiple bone breaks. It was love at first sight! He is a mixedbreed who is 7 years old. My husband and I love them all dearly.
I have very much enjoyed working for the Animal Care Centers. I work with a great staff and get to meet some wonderful clients and their pets. I look forward to meeting you and your four-legged family soon.

Hello, my name is Donna McGowan. I am one of the newest members of the Client Care Specialist team here at the Animal Care Center. I live locally with my husband of 24 years and our three children. After spending many years in and out of the human medical field while raising our kids, (who are now all teenagers), my focus has turned toward animals. I was one of those kids who brought home all the strays and injured animals I could find. It is a good thing I grew up in a large metropolitan city on the east coast, so my choices were limited!! My focus on animals got even stronger in 2006 when I joined a local horse rescue and just melted when I finally had the opportunity to work with horses. Truly a lifelong dream. Since my time at the rescue, I have adopted two mares, an Arab cross and a Thoroughbred, as well as a standard donkey. They join our menagerie of two dogs, two cats (one of which is our barn cat) and 20 chickens. Yes it is a zoo, but I love every moment I get to spend with my critters. Now I have a job where I get to see even more animals every day. In the future, I hope to complete my degree and become a certified veterinary technician and work with large and small animals alike.
Hi, my name is Maria Dolby. I joined the wonderful crew at Animal Care
Center of Castle Pines in May of 2011 as a Client Care Specialist. Having
been a stay-at-home mom for the better part of my adult life, it was only
the last few years that I figured out “what I wanted to be when I grow up”.
I jumped into the veterinary world with both feet and haven’t looked back.
Transferring from a 24 hour emergency hospital to a family oriented private
practice has been extremely rewarding. I look forward to the opportunity in
building long lasting relationships with pet owners and their furry babies
on a more personal level. I currently own 3 cats Maisey, Jane, Spike, Kitzia
and two Italian greyhounds, Romeo (deaf) and Sissy. All of my pets were
strays, rescues or relinquished animals. They have presented interesting
challenges but the experiences have been priceless. In my free time I
enjoying hiking, single track mountain biking, music festivals and outdoor
field paintball.

Hi, I’m Briana DeLuca I’m a graduate from Western State College in Gunnison Colorado. I started at the Animal Care Center as a Client Care Specialist in August 2011. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved animals so there is no better job than to be surrounded by them all day long. My husband and I have a Belgian Malinois son who is four years old. In my free time, I enjoy going to the movies, hiking and spending time with my family. I look forward to meeting you and your loved ones.
My name is Margaret Johnstone, and I have been working as a Client Care Specialist at the Animal Care Centers since September 2011. I have always had a passion for animals, and worked at a veterinary office for a couple years in high school. I started in the pre-vet program at CSU, but made a detour and ended up with a degree in English Literature. Now I am so glad that I have returned to working with amazing animals and the people who love them! Eventually,
I hope to go back to school and get certified as a veterinary technician. Aspen is my sweet Bengal baby, the newest (accidental) edition to my family. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members!
Hi! I’m Jan Ward, and
I’m the Administrative Assistant and Inventory Manager.
I was born in Pittsburgh,
PA, but have called Colorado home since the
early ‘80’s. As my plane was landing, I was already falling in love with the
mountains and open spaces.
I have lived on both coasts, as far north as Wisconsin, and
as far south as Texas,
but Colorado
is the only place to be!
I’ve worked in the Veterinary field for 8 years now, and I
love being able to have some interaction with all the animals as I do the inventory,
accounting, and all the other projects that cross my desk.
My son is a student at DU, so as an
almost-empty-nester I spend some of my free time working at the Buddy Center,
and a few times a month I work with Habitat for Humanity. I have three other children
(feline): Lucky, who just turned 20, and the twins-Simon and Zeke, who are 2,
but still act like kittens.
Hi there! My name is Elizabeth Hardy. I was born and raised in southern California, but in 2007 my family gave up the sandy beaches of Huntington Beach for the snowy mountains of Colorado. I’ve only spent a short time in Castle Pines because I was earning my Bachelor’s degree at the University of California at Davis (go Ags!). I graduated early in 2011 with a degree in animal biology. Once I returned home, I became a volunteer at the wonderful Animal Care Center. After six months I was hired as an assistant for the clinic. I enjoy helping wherever and whenever I can and I always love making new furry friends! I have two silly felines, named William Purrcival and Gidget Pawtunia.
